Recipe time. Heather and I just had this for lunch. It was so good I took some to my parents. They liked it too. It’s a pretty good approximation of NC BBQ that requires a minimal effort to make at home.

2003 Christmas Letter

OK. We’re slackers. We’re big time slackers.

I haven’t posted in almost two months and once again we didn’t get around to sending Christmas cards. So, tonight I'll attempt to kill two birds with one stone.

2003 was a great year for us. As most of you know I upgraded my career by taking a job at Microsoft. That continues to go well, although I'm working quite hard (hence the lack of fuzzythinking.com posts). My favorite hobby is still aviation. I've been flying quite a lot this year, racking up 108 hours. I didn’t add any ratings or significant upgrades to the plane, but I did take a few neat trips. Heather and I flew the plane to New York and DC for our vacation this year. I also took a solo trip to Nashville to get the plane away from Hurricane Isabel.

This year I also shut down my home recording studio. I.ve had fun with it, but it’s starting to be way to much work for a hobby. I’ve learned a lot in the ways of eBay as I’ve successfully sold off all most all of the gear. Now to buy something cool with the money :-)

This year was not without losses for our family. My grandmother Rita Hutchinson passed away in January. Heather also lost her grandfather Parks in July.

Penny is still hanging in there. She’s lost almost all of her sight but is otherwise healthy. The kitty is still evil as well.

Heather had some work successes this year. A demonstration in September was the culmination of many months of work for her. The audience of Navy Captains was impressed with the results and her project has received continued funding.

Anyway, if you’re reading this, drop us a line and let us know how you're doing. It's so hard to keep up with folks and I’m sure we’ve missed a few along the way.

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot:
Merry Christmas!
