Congratulations to The Onion, who has finally wised up and gotten a better hosting service. I have enjoyed reading their satirical paper since 1995, but recently the response time on Wednesdays (when they post new articles) has been really bad. Today I noticed a little ad banner at the bottom saying "powered by Rackspace".

Here's another great headline from our grammar-challenged friends at WRAL-TV: Police Look for Stolen Cigarettes, Tractor-Trailors. What exactly is a "trailor"?

In unrelated news, Australia is threatening to fine people who answered "Jedi" when asked on a census form what their religion was. This really bothers me. Yes, it was a hoax and the answers were probably false, but the idea of 1) the government asking such a personal question and 2) threatening to fine someone if they don't answer by naming a government-recognized (approved?) religion is quite disturbing. I don't think this would happen in America. CNN Story

I did my instrument cross-country trip today. Tim (my instructor) and I flew up to Williamsburg for lunch. Also, I did my first flying in the clouds. Until now, all of my instrument flying has been "simulated" by wearing blinders while I'm flying. Today it was real. Real fun, too!
