Hey, Raleigh made the front page of CNN.com. Too bad the picture caption didn’t make any grammatical sense: “Workers use clear snow and ice from near the RBC Center in Raleigh, North Carolina.”.
Heather and I have been trapped in the house since Sunday morning. Like the rest of the town, we are bored out of our skulls. I’ve been getting lots of opportunities to cook, as we’re eating in 3 meals a day. We’re about to run out of butter, which isn’t going to be fun. But, we still have plenty of food left (we’re running low on good food, though). Power hasn’t gone out yet and it doesn’t look like it’s going to. I knew buying that generator would scare the freezing rain away.
Our road is covered with about an inch and a half of snow, covered with a half of an inch of ice. The ice surface is strong enough to hold the weight of a car without breaking.
